Even with the market in severe downturn, people who bought 7 years ago have made out nicely. In many areas, homes are still worth twice what they were in 1999. Investment is a long term game, and playing it short is not a viable strategy.
Think land. With the fear in the economy, we are seeing amazing deals on prime pieces of land. Do you really think land will continue going down in value? And when the area becomes attractive to build on, the profit available increases exponentially.
