Water Problems ?

Working as a crew foreman I have seen the custom home go through several changes over the years, and one recent change has my concern. It seems the homeowners want a covered walk deck flooring (tile) to match the flooring (tile) on the interior of the house in height at the threshold of a sliding door. Yes, using a minimum 1/8″ pitch I feel an AZ rain storm will push water past the threshold and into the house.
Does anyone have this situation, and if so do you experience any problems with water?

Change Orders can be a frustrating experience for most. However there is a simple solution if you follow these steps.
1. Be up front about the change, its a change not a disease.
2. Price it quick! quick pricing enables me to move forward and not hold up any trades.
3. Spell it out! Make sure both parties understand what they are getting.
4. Signature! This way everyone is held accountable!
Good luck!

In our experience with homeowners, contracotrs and subcontractors, we often see changes at all stages of the game. How much do these changes really set back production? More than one might see at first. It is important to really examine all the implications of a change before implementing, and to try to avoid the changes by having a thorough planning stage, with 3d rendering/artist sketches as needed.
Have you seen this in your own building experiences? Tell us about it.
